NEW SANITARY REGULATION AGENCY

SANITARY REGULATION AGENCY (ARSA)
Executive Decree No. PCM-032-2017 of April 18th 2017

On April 18th 2017, by way of Executive Decree No. PCM-032-2017, published in the Official Newspaper La Gaceta on May 19th 2017, the Honduran Govenment agreed to create the Sanitary Regulation Agency (ARSA), a decentralized agency of the Health Administration.

ARSA, will asume the possition of all current Sanitary Divisions, and will regulate and control the registration and sale of food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, medical devices and similar products, sanitary services and authorization of establishments, except those that cover human health;

We anticipate that these changes will begin to take place during the final weeks of September 2017, when a by-law that regulates the operation of this new entity should already exist.

The changes that the new administration will enforce are still not completely clear, however these should not represente a significant impact for the public that requires services from the health Administration.
